Self-Audit: Manage, Measure, Improve

The saying goes a little something like this:
"If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got."

A guy friend of mine said "Santra, put yourself out there. Take your own advice. Do for you as much as you're doing for others. You know how to be there for everyone but do they know how to be there for you?" For the past few years, I felt a great deal of obligation to others: my friends, my family, work, and church. All are really fulfilling and extremely important but it's what I've always done...

Spring is here. It's the season of renewal  and renewed hope. The perfect time to measure, manage, and improve. You can't manage what you don't measure. And unless you're measuring something you don't know if it is getting better or worse. I urge you to measure those activities or results that are important to successfully achieving your personal and professional goals.

Make this year different from the rest. This year has been a little different from the norm. I am exploring Miami, hanging out with people that I normally wouldn't, going places that I didn't even know existed. I am encouraging you all to the same. Test the waters. Move On. Give someone a chance that you normally wouldn't <3.   Live it up. Here's to 2013, a little less than 8 months left.

Signed,
Santra D.

Ode to the Queen of my Heart

It wouldn't be right if I didn't take a moment to reflect on the Queen of my heart today.
14 years later and it still feels like just yesterday.
You never really understand why.
You never really get over it.
You just try not to think of it as much.
One of the many things that keep me awake at night
Hope we're making her proud
Forever in my heart...
